Cables
Techmar cables are available in three forms: deluxe, standard and extension cables.
Standard cables come in set lengths from 8mtrs to 15mtrs and have preformed sockets at set distances. They also have a "lead in" on each cable, this is an amount of cable (4 or 5mtrs) before the first moulded connector. Cables can be plugged together to form longer lengths (max 60-80mtr), but when you join two cables end to end, please note that you use the last light connector position for this. The use of a 3 way divider (splitter) at this point will join the two cables together and allow you to plug one or two lights in as well. The majority of standard main cables come in SPT1 cable size. SPT1 can carry a maximum loading through it of 120w, SPT3 cable (bigger) and can carry up to 150w loading. If mixing the cables, it is good practice to keep the bigger SPT3 cables nearer the transformer and then follow on with SPT1 types. Deluxe cables are different as they are a plain SPT2 size cable that then uses a heavy duty clamp on female socket, this then gives you a socket to plug a light into or perhaps an extension cable etc. This gives you complete flexibility as you put the light connections points anywhere on the cable to suit your garden plan. Also, being a plain cable means that it will pull through ducting a lot easier. The maximum cable run is 60-80mtr and maximum loading is 150w. The deluxe cable system is much easier to plan and even easier to install than the standard cables. Simply run the cable around the areas that lights need to go, clamp on the female connectors and plug the lights in. The deluxe cable system is exclusive to us in the UK, manufactured for us by Techmar.
Extension cables are simply designed to give you extra reach between the transformer and the start of your lighting as well as extra reach to get from your standard or deluxe cables to your lights. They are available in various lengths ranging from 1mtr to 10mtr in length. Again these can easily be plugged together to form longer lengths if required.
All the above cable types are fully compatible with all the Techmar lights, lighting controls and accessories. Just choose the system that is best for you and pick the lights and transformer.

Standard Main Cables &...
Standard main cables are a great way to quickly get the cables around your garden. They all come with moulded connectors (cannot be moved or adjusted) that allow you to plug your light into or perhaps an extension cable or 3 way splitter. They come in lengths ranging from 8mtrs to 15mtrs and are generally the cheapest option. If you have to pull these cables through ducting, we recommend a internal clearance of approximately 40mm to allow the moulded connectors to pull through. Standard main cables come in SPT1 and SPT3 size, it is recommended that you use the SPT3 size on longer systems of over 40mtr in length. SPT1 will carry a maximum loading of 120w, while the larger SPT3 size will take 150w, but lets be honest that is a lot of LED's

Extension Cables
Extension cables are great for extending from the main cable to get to remote lighting points as well as branching off the system to pick some lights elsewhere for example straight across the garden. Screw connectors can be used on certain extension cables in order to connect lights to them, please see each cable for more details. They are available in lengths ranging from 1mtr up to 10mtrs and are all fully compatible with a lights, accessories, standard and deluxe cables.

Deluxe Cables & Accessories
The NEW SPT2 plain cable system is exclusive to us in the UK. It is even more simple to install as you do not need to worry about the fixed light connections as you do on the standard cables. It will easily pull through small ducting as there are no moulded connectors to get in the way. This system will carry a maximum loading of 150 watts and will run a 60-80mtr on average without suffering any Volt Drop. The cable measures 7mm x 3.5mm and sits between the SPT1 and SPT3 cable size.
The deluxe SPT2 plain cable system comprises of 10m, 25m and 50mtr cable drum sizes, plus female and male connectors. It is fully compatible with the entire range of Techmar lights, transformers and accessories. You will need to purchase a female connector for every light you need on the system. All 3 cable drums with a male connector to plug straight into one of our transformers. You can extend the cable or create a branch off the main cable run by using a female and male together, plus the extension cable. The cable can easily be cut to length and capped off using the end caps provided with each cable pack. If you want to join a brand new cable to an existing length then you will need a female connector, if you want to extend/add using an offcut of cable then you will need a male and female connector.
